Professional Window Film Installation in Spain
Solar, privacy and safety films for homes, villas, offices and commercial properties.
Living in Spain means enjoying plenty of sunshine — but sometimes there can simply be too much of it.
Strong sunlight can make rooms uncomfortably hot, create glare on televisions and computer screens, and contribute to fading of furniture, flooring, curtains and other interior furnishings. Privacy can also be a concern, particularly with large windows, glazed doors and properties close to neighbours or busy roads.
That's where we can help.
Professional Window Film Installation Across Southern Spain
At Out of the Sun in Spain, we supply and professionally install window film for homes and businesses across southern Spain. We offer solar control film, privacy film and safety film, and we take the time to understand your property and what you actually want the film to achieve before recommending a solution.
We don't believe in putting the same film on every window. Different glass, different rooms and different problems require different solutions.

Window film solutions for your property
Whether your main problem is heat, glare, privacy or vulnerable glass, there is usually a window-film solution worth considering.
Solar control window film
If certain rooms in your home become unbearably hot when the sun is on the windows, solar control film can make a noticeable difference to how the room feels.
Solar window film helps reduce the amount of solar energy entering through the glass. Depending on the film selected, it can help make rooms more comfortable, reduce glare and help protect furniture, flooring, curtains and displays from UV exposure.
Solar film can be particularly useful for:
- South- and west-facing windows
- Large windows and sliding doors
- Villas and apartments
- Conservatories and bright living areas
- Offices and rooms with computer screens
- Shops, showrooms and commercial premises

Privacy window film
Sometimes you don't want to close the curtains or install blinds just to get a little more privacy.
Privacy window film can be a simple way of making existing glass more discreet while still allowing natural light into the room.
Depending on the film chosen, it can:
- Obscure the view through the glass
- Allow natural light into the room
- Give offices and commercial premises a more private environment
- Add a decorative or contemporary finish
- Improve privacy on glazed doors and internal partitions
Privacy film can be particularly useful in bathrooms, entrance doors, offices, meeting rooms, street-facing windows and internal glass partitions.
One thing we always explain before installation is how the film will behave during the day and after dark. Some reflective films provide good daytime privacy but can behave differently when the inside of the property is brighter than outside.
If privacy is important to you, we'll help you choose a film based on how you actually use the room.

Safety window film
Glass is incredibly useful, but broken glass can create a serious hazard.
Safety window film is designed to help hold fragments together if the glass breaks. It can be used on windows, glazed doors, shopfronts, offices and other areas where broken glass could present a risk.
It can be a practical way of upgrading existing glazing where replacing the glass would be disruptive or unnecessary. Safety film does not make ordinary glass unbreakable, and it isn't a replacement for specialist security glazing where a higher level of protection is required.
We'll assess your application and explain what the film can and cannot do before recommending a suitable specification.

What can window film do for you?
One of the reasons we like window film is that it can solve several everyday problems without replacing your existing windows.
Depending on the film you choose, it may help you:
- Reduce solar heat entering through your windows
- Make hot rooms more comfortable
- Reduce uncomfortable glare
- Reduce glare on televisions and computer screens
- Block a very high proportion of UV radiation
- Help protect furnishings and displays from fading
- Improve daytime privacy
- Add a discreet layer of protection to existing glass
- Maintain natural light and outside views
The important thing to remember is that not every film does all of these things to the same degree. Performance depends on the product, the glass, the orientation of the window and the installation conditions. That's why we'd rather look at your particular situation and give you honest advice than tell you that one film is perfect for everything.
Why choose Out of the Sun in Spain?
For us, installing window film isn't simply about sticking film onto glass.
- The right result starts with choosing the right product. We work with all HANITA / AVERY DENNISON window film products.
- Our experienced installers are all trained at our own company and only use the correct tools and equipment.
- We started the company Out of the sun in Netherlands in 1973 and started with our Spanish company in 2023. Our company comes with more then 50 years experience in installing window film.
- We are proud of our only 5-star verified reviews. Customer satisfaction is outmost important to us!
We consider things such as the type of glass, window orientation, size, access, how the room is used and the appearance you want before recommending a film.
We also understand that every property is different.
A film that works well on one villa may not be the right choice for another property. A film that is perfect for reducing heat may not be the best choice where maintaining maximum daylight is the priority.
Our approach is simple:
Listen to what you need. Look at your windows. Explain your options. Recommend a suitable solution. Install it properly. And if we don't think window film is the right answer for your particular situation, we'll tell you.
How our installation process works
1. Tell us what you'd like to improve
- Give us a call, send us a WhatsApp or email us. Tell us what's bothering you — perhaps it's heat, glare, privacy, UV exposure or concerns about the glass. If you can send us a few photographs and approximate measurements, that can be helpful for an initial discussion.
2. We'll advise you on the options
- We'll consider your glass, the orientation and size of the windows, access to the property, how the room is used and the appearance you'd like to achieve. We'll then recommend the film we believe is most appropriate for your requirements.
3. You'll receive a clear quotation
- Your quotation is based on the film selected, the amount of glass involved and the installation requirements. If there are any additional travel or access costs, we'll explain these before the work goes ahead.
4. We install the film carefully
- Our installers prepare the glass carefully and apply the film with attention to alignment, edges and the overall finish. Once the installation is complete, we'll explain what to expect during the curing period and give you the appropriate aftercare advice.
A recent solar film installation in Benahavís, Malaga, Costa del Sol
Making a sunny villa more comfortable
A villa in Benahavís on the Costa del Sol had large south-facing windows and sliding doors that allowed considerable solar heat into the living area. During the day, the glass became extremely hot and the air-conditioning system had to work hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. After assessing the glazing, we selected and installed a solar control film suited to the property. The result was a more comfortable living area, reduced solar heat coming through the affected glass and less strain on the air-conditioning system. We believe real projects are much more useful than vague claims, which is why we're building a collection of genuine window-film case studies from properties across Spain.

Will solar film make my rooms dark?
Not necessarily.
Solar films are available in different shades and transparency levels. If maintaining daylight and outside views is particularly important to you, we can recommend a lighter option.
Does window film block UV radiation?
Many architectural window films are designed to block a very high proportion of UV radiation.
The exact performance depends on the product, so we recommend checking the manufacturer's technical specification for the particular film being considered.
Can privacy film provide privacy at night?
It depends on the type of film.
Some reflective privacy films primarily provide daytime privacy. When the inside of a property becomes brighter than the outside, visibility can change after dark.
Frosted film provides a more consistent obscured-glass effect.
We'll explain this before you choose your film so there are no surprises later.
Is safety film the same as security glass?
No.
Safety film can help hold broken glass together, but it does not make ordinary glass unbreakable.
The appropriate solution depends on the glass, the property and the level of protection required.
Can window film be installed on double glazing?
Some films are suitable for double-glazed units, but compatibility needs to be checked before installation.
The film, glass composition, exposure and installation position can all be important.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the number and size of the windows, the film selected and access to the glass.
When we prepare your quotation, we'll give you an estimated installation time.
